Getting Started

  • What is Kinitask?

    Kinitask is Nigeria's premium classifieds marketplace where you can buy, sell, and find jobs, cars, real estate, services, and more. We connect buyers and sellers across all 36 states.

  • Do I need an account to browse?

    No. You can browse listings and search without signing up. You'll need a free account to post ads, save favourites, message sellers, or contact buyers.

  • How do I create an account?

    Click 'Sign Up' in the top right, enter your email and password, and verify your email. You can also sign up with Google for faster access.

Posting Ads

  • How do I post an ad?

    Click 'Post Ad' and follow the 4-step wizard: choose a category, add photos, write your title and description, then add your location. Your ad goes live immediately after submission.

  • How many photos can I add?

    You can add up to 10 photos per listing. Clear, well-lit photos help your ad stand out. The first photo appears as the main image in search results.

  • Can I edit or delete my ad?

    Yes. Go to Account → My Ads, find your listing, and click Edit or Delete. You can also unpublish an ad temporarily if the item is sold.

  • Why was my ad removed?

    Listings may be removed if they violate our policies (prohibited items, misleading content, duplicate posts, or spam). Check your email for details. Contact support if you believe it was a mistake.

Buying & Selling

  • How do I search for items?

    Use the search bar to type keywords, filter by category and location (state/city), and sort by price or date. You can also browse categories to explore subcategories.

  • How do I contact a seller?

    Open the listing and click 'Contact Seller'. You can send a message through our chat or view the seller's phone number if they've shared it. All messages are private.

  • Is negotiation allowed?

    Yes. Many sellers mark prices as negotiable. Use the chat to make offers and agree on a final price before meeting.

Messaging

  • Where do I see my messages?

    Click the message icon in the header or go to /messages. You'll see all your conversations with buyers and sellers in one place.

  • Can I share my phone number in chat?

    Yes. You can share contact details in messages. We recommend meeting in person for high-value items and following our Safety Tips.

Payments

  • Does Kinitask handle payments?

    No. Kinitask does not process payments. Buyers and sellers arrange payment directly. We recommend cash on delivery, bank transfer after inspection, or trusted escrow for large transactions.

  • What payment methods are common?

    Cash, bank transfer (GTBank, Access, UBA, etc.), and mobile money (OPay, Palmpay) are widely used. For vehicles and property, use a lawyer or escrow service.

Safety & Trust

  • How do I stay safe when meeting buyers or sellers?

    Always meet in a public, well-lit place (e.g. bank lobby, mall). Never pay upfront for items you haven't inspected. Read our full Safety Tips for detailed guidance.

  • How do I report a scam or suspicious listing?

    Click 'Report Ad' on the listing page. Our team reviews all reports and takes action against fraudulent or policy-violating content.

  • What if someone asks for my password or OTP?

    Never share your password or OTP. Kinitask will never ask for these. Report anyone who does via Contact Support.

Account & Profile

  • How do I change my password?

    Go to Account → Settings (or your profile menu). Use 'Forgot password' on the sign-in page if you've lost access.

  • How do I delete my account?

    Go to Account → Delete Account. Your account and data will be removed after the process completes. This cannot be undone.

  • Can I have multiple accounts?

    One account per person is recommended. Multiple accounts for the same user may be merged or restricted.

Location & Delivery

  • How do I set my location?

    When posting an ad, select your state and city from the location selector. Buyers can filter by location to find listings near them.

  • Does Kinitask deliver items?

    No. Buyers and sellers arrange delivery or pickup. For large items, consider using a logistics partner or meeting in person.
